Crafting Better Businsess: Insights from the Craft Beer Industry

Here is a talk I did at TEDxSanAntonio this year. It discusses how we can look at the beer industry of how to overcome the propensity for businesses to achieve for economies of scale, thereby lessening their value to the community. Hope you enjoy it.

Props to you for your “economies of authenticity” argument! Small is beautiful (to quote Schumacher/Kohr), and the race to the price bottom or quest for economies of scale show us free-marketers how capitalism can be just as devastating for communities as communism.
May Freetail, and your economic classes, continue to enjoy an engaged audience. And may consumers realize that the onus is on them as well, to demand better products/services, and to support their local community (before they are reduced to a cookie cutter collective in support of distant shareholders with no compelling concern for the common good).
